Not much to say... We
looked at the weather map, and planned our most recent trip
based on our quest to find the sunniest, warmest spot in the
Southeast. That happened to be Marco Island.
(Besides, we got a great Hotwire deal at a hotel right ON the
beach.) So we've spent the last two days laying and walking on
the beach here, enjoying the beautiful weather. There's
tons of shells on the beach, but we've been roughing it without
sandals - trying to toughen up our feet for many days of
barefoot walking in our life of leisure. You've got to
have goals for yourself, right? A reason to get out of
bed?
Sorry no photos for a
while. We haven't stayed anywhere with internet access in
a long time, so it's been updates via coffee shops for us.
We should be able to add some soon enough, for those interested
in seeing how many beach and sunset photos one couple can take
over a two week period.
Planning our next
steps now. We're going to take a tour of the Everglades
National Park in the next couple of days... Scott really wants
to take an airboat ride and maybe wrestle (rassle?) an alligator
or two. Then we're hoping to drive up to Pine Island to
visit our friends Lenny & Tina, along with their two youngsters
Isabella (3 yrs old?) and Abigail (4 months). Looks like
we're going to have to suffer a week or two of temps back in the
60's, as we wend our way through the Gulf Coast states of
Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana until we can make our way
back south into Mexico. It'll be okay though, don't feel
too bad for us. |
